What Our Process Looks Like
At S&H Training, we make the transition from training to testing as smooth as possible. Once you complete your Home Care Aide training with us, you’re already on track to take your state exam right here at S&H Training – with no additional enrollment steps, transfers, or external scheduling systems to navigate.
The only requirement before scheduling your exam is applying with the Washington State Department of Health to receive your Pending License Number. Once we have that number and your exam payments have been made, you can sign up for your Knowledge and Skills exams directly through S&H Training Center at any of our approved testing locations.

Not a student with S&H Training?
Testing With S&H Training Center - Open to All Qualified Candidates
You don’t have to be an S&H Training student to take your HCA State Exam with us. We proudly offer testing to anyone who has completed their Home Care Aide training through a Washington State approved program and is ready to move toward certification.
All candidates receive the same supportive testing experience – calm testing rooms, friendly proctors, easy scheduling, and fast turnaround.
Whether you trained elsewhere or are new to S&H Training, we’re here to help you take the next step toward becoming a certified Home Care Aide in Washington state.
Scheduling Your Exam With S&H Training Is Simple
We only require:
Your Pending License Number from the Department of Health
A copy of your 75-Hour Certificate from an approved Washington State HCA training provider
Basic contact and identification information to build your exam file
Payment of $130 for both the Knowledge and Skills State Exams
Once these items are submitted, you can schedule your exams at one of our S&H Training test locations in Olympia, Sequim, Tri Cities, or Vancouver.
