VIRTUAL DEMENTIA CARE CLASS

Approved by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), this training program provides certification in Dementia Specialty for long-term care workers, including managers (there is no longer a separate class for managers) across Washington state.

State-approved Dementia course curriculum:

the different types of dementias
-
communications
-
behaviors
-
hallucinations
-
delusions
-
medications
-
approaches in care as as caregivers provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
The one-day Dementia class also includes a competency exam, which requires a score of 80% or higher to successfully receive a DSHS-approved Dementia Certificate and 8 hours of Continuing Education units.

Our Dementia class is offered once a month via zoom. More classes will be added if needed.
