S&H Training Center
At S&H Training, we don’t just train caregivers. We build skill, confidence, and success - one student at a time.

S&H Training Center was created with one purpose:
To provide clear, supportive, high-quality caregiver education that prepares individuals to succeed in Washington state’s long-term care field. Founded and operated by professionals who have worked directly in home care and facility settings, our mission is built on real experience. We understand the needs of students, the expectations of employers, and the importance of strong training in shaping confident, compassionate caregivers.
We offer complete pathways for Home Care Aide certification, including:
• 75-Hour HCA Training
• Mental Health and Dementia Specialty Training
• Nurse Delegation Courses
• Skill-based classroom instruction
• State examination services at six locations
S&H Training is an approved provider through the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and the Department of Health (DOH), ensuring our programs meet and exceed state requirements.

With a focus on hands-on learning, encouragement, and clear guidance, we help students enter the workforce feeling ready, supported, and proud of their achievements. We believe that education should be accessible, straightforward, and rooted in respect. Our instructors teach with patience and professionalism, breaking down complex information into practical skills that matter in real-world care settings. From enrollment through certification testing, S&H Training provides the structure, tools, and encouragement students need to move forward with confidence.
Today, S&H Training Center is growing statewide with locations in Olympia, Sequim, and Vancouver - expanding access to training and bringing more certified caregivers into Washington’s workforce. Whether students are brand new to the field or continuing their caregiver education, we are honored to be part of their journey.
Meet Our Team
Sarah Lane - Owner, Instructor & Proctor

Owning and operating a home care agency for more than ten years, Sarah understands how crucial strong caregiver training is to delivering safe, high-quality care. Before opening her agency, she completed the Home Care Aide program herself to better understand the role, boundaries, and daily responsibilities caregivers carry. That personal experience shaped her belief that training should be thorough, accessible, and rooted in respect for both the caregiver and the client.
Sarah opened S&H Training Center with a clear mission: to raise the standards of caregiver education in Washington state and to build a learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and equipped for real-world caregiving. She teaches Mental Health, Dementia, Core Basic Skills, and other specialty classes, sharing practical knowledge and compassion through every course.
As a certified Proctor for the HCA State Exam, Sarah also guides students through the testing process, helping them feel confident and prepared on exam day. Her leadership continues to expand S&H Training’s locations, programs, and educational opportunities across the region.
Jessika Wood - Administrative Coordinator, Instructor & Proctor

Jessika has been a licensed caregiver since 2009, working in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care, and community-based settings. With more than a decade of hands-on experience, she offers students real-world understanding of what caregiving truly looks like: balancing empathy, communication, dignity, safety, and professionalism.
At S&H Training, Jessika teaches Mental Health, Dementia, and Core Basic Skills classes, where she focuses on building confidence and strong foundational technique. She also serves as a Proctor for the state exam, supporting students not only in learning but in successful certification. Her approachable teaching style and calm presence help reduce stress for new caregivers entering the field.
As Administrative Coordinator, Jessika manages onboarding, communication, scheduling, and student support. She is deeply involved in operations and is often the person guiding students and employers from their initial questions through class completion and testing. Her organization, reliability, and commitment to student success make her an integral part of the S&H Training experience.
Evelyn - Office Assistant (Olympia Location)

Based at our Olympia office, Evelyn is the friendly, supportive voice students and employers meet when contacting S&H Training Center. She manages scheduling, registration, intake communication, and daily operational support. Her role helps ensure students are prepared for class, employers have accurate records, and the entire process runs efficiently from start to finish.
As an Army spouse, Evelyn understands flexibility, communication, and organization, skills she applies every day to assist students and partner facilities. She is quickly learning the complex systems involved in long-term care training and plays a key role in maintaining positive, timely communication with students and employers.
Her approachable nature and sincere desire to help others make her an important part of the student experience. Whether guiding someone through a registration question or directing them to helpful resources, Evelyn supports the welcoming, reliable environment students have come to expect from S&H Training Center.
Ashley - Instructor/Proctor in Vancouver

We’re excited to welcome Ashley to the S&H Training Center team as an Instructor at our Vancouver location. Ashley is a dedicated mom with extensive hands-on experience in long-term care, and she brings a teaching style that strongly aligns with the S&H Training way.
Ashley believes in providing support and guidance, offering gentle corrections, and creating a learning environment where students feel encouraged, not intimidated. Her goal is to ensure every student leaves class and testing feeling confident in their knowledge, skills, and ability to care for others.
